Our integrated marketing and advertising campaign for Prince George’s County’s (MD) Beautification Initiative was recognized at the 2021 Baltimore American Advertising Federation American Advertising Awards (ADDY) virtual ceremony. The campaign won a silver award in the cross-platform category as well as a prestigious Judge’s Choice award.

The American Advertising Federation (AAF) hosts the ADDY Awards, the advertising industry’s largest competition, representing 40,000 advertising professionals. With this local award, the campaign will now move on to the regional ADDY awards.

Working with Prince George’s County Department of the Environment and the Office of the County Executive, LMD developed and executed a multi-year, multi-channel anti-littering campaign to raise awareness about trash and illegal dumping in the County, and to encourage residents, visitors, and businesses to help keep the County green and clean. The campaign includes digital, print, video, and out-of-home advertising, social media, and a comprehensive website that serves as an information hub.

The Beautification Initiative was launched in 2019 by the Department of the Environment and County Executive Angela Alsobrooks as part of a revitalized effort to reduce litter and illegal dumping in the County. In addition to the campaign, the Initiative aims to address these problems with the latest innovations in green technology, new services for residents, policy changes, better law enforcement on illegal dumping, and improved coordination with the State of Maryland.
